CAHA Coach Development Center

Develop better coaches. Build better players.

Coaching is more than teaching systems and skills. It is creating a safe, positive environment where athletes learn, compete, grow, and develop a lifelong love of hockey.

“The best coaches do more than prepare players for the next game. They prepare them for the next challenge.”

Common Questions

Coach FAQ

What must I complete before coaching?

USA Hockey currently requires annual registration, a cleared background screen where applicable, SafeSport training, the correct age-specific module, and the required coaching clinic. Confirm your exact status in the USA Hockey Learning Center.

Where do I find clinics and modules?

Use the USA Hockey Learning Center and Coaching Clinics pages linked above.

How often do requirements renew?

Different requirements follow different renewal cycles. SafeSport, screening, registration, clinic certification, and continuing education should always be checked directly in your USA Hockey profile.

Who should I contact for CAHA coaching questions?

CAHA does not currently maintain a separate Coach-in-Chief contact. Use USA Hockey’s current coaching education and support resources for certification and program guidance.
