A great hockey experience starts with support at home, encouragement in the stands, and a shared commitment to helping players grow. CAHA invites all parents and guardians to read the attached 2025–26 USA Hockey Parent Handbook.
Whether your family is stepping into the rink for the first time or preparing for another season, take a moment to consider what success means for your player. Beyond goals, wins, and standings, hockey offers opportunities to build confidence, develop friendships, learn teamwork, and work through challenges.
Parents help shape that experience. The conversations before practice, the encouragement after a difficult game, and the example we set around coaches, officials, and other families all matter. Keeping the focus on effort, learning, and enjoyment helps players feel supported as they develop.
Use this handbook as a starting point for a conversation with your child:
- What are you most excited about this season?
- What would you like to learn or improve?
- How can we best support you?
- What makes hockey fun for you?
Team managers and club leaders: Please share the handbook with your families and encourage them to review it together. It’s an opportunity to reinforce a positive team environment and keep the player’s experience at the center of the season.
