Labor Day Weekend Means Hockey Is Back

September 3, 2026

Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial beginning of another exciting hockey season. Across California and beyond, CAHA teams are returning to the ice for tournaments, reconnecting with teammates, and putting months of preparation into action.

CAHA wishes the best of luck to every player, coach, team manager, official, volunteer, and family participating this weekend. Whether your team is competing close to home or traveling out of state, we hope the weekend brings great competition, lasting memories, and a strong start to the 2026–27 season.

Tournament weekends can be exciting, busy, and emotional. As the games begin, we ask everyone to represent their programs and California hockey with pride. Support the players, respect opponents, show appreciation for our officials, and remember that the conduct of adults helps shape the experience for every young athlete in the building.

Please travel safely, enjoy the holiday weekend, and take a moment to thank the coaches, managers, volunteers, rink employees, and officials who make these events possible.

Good luck to all CAHA teams competing this Labor Day weekend. Play hard, compete with class, and have fun!

Happy Labor Day from the California Amateur Hockey Association.
