CAHA teams tested themselves against top competition at a national event that brought more than 100 youth teams to the Chicago area.

CAHA Tier I teams traveled to Chicago for the 2026 USHL Fall Classic, joining youth programs from across North America for a weekend of high-level competition.

The youth tournaments ran alongside the USHL’s season-opening event, Sept. 16–20. While every USHL team played its first two regular-season games, youth teams competed across four age groups at rinks throughout the city. For CAHA players, the trip offered a chance to measure their game against teams from outside California and represent their association on a national stage. The Fall Classic also brought youth hockey and junior hockey together, giving players and families a close-up view of the competition and environment surrounding the next level.
